More mic length — more options.

The long-mic version of the standard AXIS gives you more options for how to wear your headset. By attaching two included snap-on side pads, the long-mic AXIS can be worn on top of your head, leaving your ears completely pressure-free.

It may also be worn in the standard way (on top of the ears), and is a good option for those with larger head sizes to ensure optimal microphone placement.

The mic boom is 1 inch (2.54 cm) longer than the boom on the standard AXIS.

You can wear the long-mic version on top of your head — ensuring zero pressure on your ears.
The long-mic version can still be worn over the ears if desired

Who should buy the long-mic version?

The long-mic version version of the AXIS may be a better option for you if any of the following apply:

ear

You have sensitive ears or bulky eyewear

By wearing the headset on top of your head, you can reduce pressure on your ears and make more room for bulky eyewear.

neck-wear-arrow

You want to wear the headset on your neck

The long-mic AXIS includes a pair of optional extra-long acoustic tubes which let you wear the headset on your neck. Long tubes are also compatible with the standard AXIS (available for optional purchase), but the extra mic boom length allows improved microphone positioning.

You have a larger head size

While the standard AXIS is compatible with most head sizes, for those with larger heads, the long mic version will help ensure the microphone can be positioned in front of the center of your mouth (when wearing the headset on top of your ears).

  1. David (verified owner)

I had previously used a competitor’s in ear headset and the biggest problem was the mike boom would never stay in place. Axis has solved that problem with a high quality, very comfortable headset. It fits your head nicely with the flexible over ear pieces. Everything stays in place, the sound quality in excellent and the comfort level great.

Very happy with the headset! Fixed all my headache issues from my Bose! Cannot wait to continue to see this headset grow and improve!

Best headset I’ve owned!! Previously owned and used Telex 840, Bose A20, Bose Proflight II, and Clarity Aloft Flex. These are like wearing a pair of really light sunglasses (backwards). Stay secure in place once on (my first concern) and clarity of audio is excellent (another pre-purchase concern). Hot mic background noise is minimal (unlike my Clarity Alofts). Highly recommend (used on transport category aircraft w hot mic system).
